Kwame Aduako Aboagye-Atta is an independent development professional with specialisation in project management; monitoring, evaluation and learning: agribusiness; value chain analysis; mining linkages; enterprise development; local economic development and supply chain development in Ghana. He has over 31 years working experience in those sectors in Ghana.
As an agricultural value chain specialist, Kwame has implemented interventions in several agricultural value chains including cocoa, maize, oil palm, salt, plantain, vegetables, soya, sesame, poultry, cereals etc. Some of the interventions have included preparation of the value chain briefs, business skills training for actors along the chain, finance facilitation, facilitation of extension services, GPS mapping of producer farms, and market access.
As a project implementation professional, Kwame has led teams to successfully implement several international development projects whose scope has included enterprise development, rural economic development and agribusiness. He has drafted project proposals and program charters for donor funding, developed program logical frameworks, deployed project teams and implemented programs from the planning stages through to execution to closure.
An experienced researcher, Kwame has conducted baseline surveys, evaluations and impact assessments on several educational and agricultural finance programs in Ghana and Mozambique, supported by international organisations such as Newmont Africa, Opportunity International, MasterCard Foundation, Gates Foundation, Citi Foundation and the DFID.
He has implemented projects for international development agencies such as the United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP), International Finance Corporation (World Bank-IFC) and the DFID; international non-governmental organizations such as Opportunity International Global and UK, TechnoServe Inc, Lundin for Africa Foundation (USA), WaterAid (UK) and Compassion International; international multinationals such as Newmont Africa , Barry Callebaut, Red Back Mining Ltd and Kinross Mining Ltd. Kwame has also implemented projects for Ghanaian governmental agencies such as the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Ministry of Mines and Energy, the Volta River Authority (VRA) and the Venture Capital Fund.
He is a Sociologist by training.
